1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in programmes and services provided by Nilai, a financial education provider operating in Singapore. Please read them carefully before registering for any programme.
By completing a registration, submitting an enquiry form, or attending a session, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If any part is unclear, we welcome your questions before you proceed.
These terms are governed by Singapore law. Any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
2. Our Programmes
Nilai currently offers three programmes:
- A Steady Look at the Household — a four-week group programme held on Saturday mornings, at SGD 240 per participant
- The Considered Investor's Curriculum — an eight-week group course, at SGD 470 per participant
- The Steady Household Track — a five-session bespoke programme for households, at SGD 720 per household
Programme details, including dates, venues, and session topics, are communicated at or before the point of registration. We reserve the right to amend programme content from time to time to reflect current conditions, but the substance of what is described to you at registration will be delivered.
Educational nature: Our programmes are educational in character. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or any regulated financial service. We do not recommend specific products, institutions, or investment decisions. Participants are responsible for the financial decisions they make after attending our programmes.
3. Registration and Payment
Registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment in full. We will send you a written confirmation within two working days of receiving your registration and payment.
Payments are accepted by bank transfer to the details provided in our confirmation correspondence. For the Steady Household Track, a deposit of SGD 200 is required at the point of registration, with the balance due at least five working days before the first session.
Places on group programmes are limited. We reserve your place only when payment has been received. If a programme is full when you register, we will place you on a waiting list and advise you promptly.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation by a participant:
- Cancellation more than fourteen days before the first session: full refund of the amount paid
- Cancellation seven to fourteen days before the first session: refund of fifty percent of the amount paid
- Cancellation fewer than seven days before the first session: no refund, though a transfer to a later intake of the same programme may be arranged where this is practicable
Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing to [email protected]. The date of cancellation is the date your written request is received.
Cancellation by Nilai:
Nilai reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a programme where enrolment is insufficient, where circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent delivery, or for other operational reasons. In such cases, we will notify you as promptly as possible and offer a full refund or a transfer to an alternative intake.
5. Conduct at Sessions
We ask that participants approach each session with the same respect and consideration they would bring to any professional gathering. Our sessions are designed to be calm and unhurried environments in which every participant can think and contribute at their own pace.
- Discussions within sessions are conducted on a confidential basis; participants should not share specifics discussed by others in the group
- Recording of sessions, in whole or in part, is not permitted without prior written consent from Nilai
- The printed readers and written materials provided are for your personal use and may not be reproduced or distributed
Nilai reserves the right to ask a participant to leave if their conduct materially disrupts the session or is distressing to others. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.
6. Intellectual Property
All written materials, readers, session summaries, curriculum documents, and other materials produced by Nilai remain the intellectual property of Nilai. By registering for a programme, you are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use those materials for your own private learning purposes.
You may not reproduce, publish, distribute, or adapt Nilai's materials without our prior written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
Nilai's programmes are educational in nature. We do not accept liability for any financial decisions made by participants as a result of attending our programmes or reviewing our materials.
To the extent permitted by Singapore law, Nilai's liability to you in connection with any programme is limited to the amount you paid for that programme. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Personal Data
We handle the personal data you share with us in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012. Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we collect, use, and protect your data.
9. Amendments
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any material change affecting your rights will be communicated to you before it takes effect. The version in force at the time of your registration governs your participation in the relevant programme.
